Light Heart Foundation was recently given the Trailblazer
Award at the
5th Anuual Entreprenurial Excellence Awards luncheon on May
15, 2008.
| This event was sponsored
by the National Association of Women Business Owners.
Since Beth was five years old, her lifelong love has been
connecting members of one generation with another. This
effort expanded while working in the banking industry
and came into full bloom when creating the Light Heart
Foundation in 1997, whose mission is to increase visitation
and promote community awareness as to the needs of the
elderly living in retirement, assisted living, and skilled
nursing communities. |

Her community projects, student service learning
programs and advocacy programs has impacted more than 10,000
lives this past year. In addition to these efforts she is actively
involved in the newly established City of Cottonwood Senior
Commission that helps promote services and information resources
for the maturing population.
2008 Ruby Volunteer Spirit Award
For the past eight years the Light Heart Foundation
has honored an individual or group with our Volunteer Spirit
Award.
This year and for the first time, we are inaugurating
the “Ruby Volunteer Spirit Award.” It will be given
only periodically in honor of those whose both vision and service
delivery goes above and beyond excellent volunteer service.
Part of our criteria is that it must be an inter-generational
project and has the potential to transform lives for the better
of the community they serve—whether that community of
service is for their local town, their region, state, nationally
or globally.
It is with appreciation and delight that we
wish to recognize the Marine Corps League Detachment 1237 Group
and the senior residents at Sedona Winds Independent and Assisted
Living Communities.
Marine Corps League Detachment 1237
Group.
